Express Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Trainer to oversee the training and certification of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) within our Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) settings. You will be responsible for ensuring all staff are compliant with Illinois state and federal regulations, specifically regarding Rule 116 medication administration.
Key Responsibilities

Training & Delegation: Design and lead training programs for DSPs; conduct annual reauthorizations for medication administration.

Clinical Assessments: Perform annual nursing assessments, health risk screenings (HRST), and body check assessments.

Compliance: Maintain accurate training records and ensure timely de-listing of non-compliant staff.

Monitoring: Review daily vital signs logs and medication error reports.

On-Call Support: Provide 24/7 on-call emergency response and clinical support (G-tube, insulin) when needed.

Reporting: Act as a mandated reporter for the OIG regarding any allegations of abuse or neglect.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required.

Licensure: Current Illinois RN License is mandatory.

Certifications: Must be an IDHS-Approved Nurse Trainer (or willing/able to complete the DHS Train-the-Trainer session for Rule 116 and Diabetes/Insulin curriculum).

Experience: 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience; 2+ years in a training or CILA/home health setting preferred.

Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and deep knowledge of Illinois Administrative Rules 115 and 116.
