Pharmacy Technician Job | 2nd Shift | $22/hr

We are currently seeking a Pharmacy Technician I with Non-Sterile Compounding experience to join our Pharmacy Operations team. This is a great opportunity for candidates looking to grow in a compounding pharmacy setting while working a consistent 2nd shift schedule.

Job Details

  • Position: Pharmacy Technician I (Non-Sterile Compounding)
  • Department: Pharmacy Operations
  • Schedule: Full-Time | 2nd Shift | 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM 
  • Pay Rate: $22/hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare non-sterile compounded medications in accordance with pharmacy guidelines
  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications
  • Mix pharmaceutical preparations and fill prescriptions (tablets, capsules, etc.)
  • Receive, store, and manage incoming supplies; maintain accurate inventory counts
  • Clean and maintain equipment, including hoods and lab areas, and document daily cleaning activities
  • Sterilize glassware and equipment following established procedures
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and Protected Health Information (PHI) security
  • Assist with product preparation, testing, and presentations as needed
  • Support training and competency processes for pharmacy personnel
  • Follow strict PPE, gowning, and sterile room protocols when performing cleaning duties
  • Adhere to workplace requirements, including removal of jewelry, makeup, and nail products when required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 6 months of pharmacy technician or related experience
  • Ability to perform all essential duties in a fast-paced pharmacy environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Certifications & Requirements

  • Active Pharmacy Technician registration (required per state regulations)
  • CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to read and interpret safety procedures, SOPs, and pharmacy protocols
  • Strong basic math skills (fractions, ratios, measurements)
  • Comfortable using computers and pharmacy systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
  • Frequent use of hands and arms; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and move within a lab environment
  • Visual ability including close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment

Work Environment

  • Exposure to pharmacy lab conditions, including chemicals, airborne particles, and mechanical equipment
  • Moderate noise level
  • Strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols
