Position Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and patient-focused Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our clinical team 2 days per week. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient education, proficient in periodontal therapy, and dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence.
Primary Responsibilities
- Clinical Care: Perform comprehensive dental hygiene procedures, including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and selective polishing.
- Assessment & Documentation: Conduct initial patient screenings, periodontal charting, medical history reviews, and oral cancer screenings. Accurately document all treatment and findings in the patient's electronic health record (EHR).
- Radiography: Take and process high-quality digital radiographs (X-rays) as prescribed by the Dentist.
- Preventative Care: Apply fluoride, place sealants, and administer local anesthesia (if licensed and required).
- Patient Education: Counsel and educate patients on optimal oral hygiene techniques, preventative care, and the importance of a complete treatment plan.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to all infection control and sterilization protocols (OSHA/CDC guidelines).
- Collaboration: Work seamlessly with the Dentist and the rest of the clinical team to ensure a positive patient flow and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Associate's or bachelor's degree in dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Current, active Illinois Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) License (or ability to obtain before start date).
- Certifications: Current CPR certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in a private dental practice is preferred, but highly motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Proficiency with digital charting software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and digital radiography.
Hours: Monday and Tuesday 6:15a to 3:30p
Pay: $45/hr
