Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing mammographic procedures to assist in the early detection of breast cancer and other abnormalities. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Mammography Technologist will collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnostic evaluations.
Duties
- Perform high-quality mammography examinations in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures, providing clear instructions and support.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.
- Operate mammography equipment, ensuring proper calibration and maintenance.
- Assist in the diagnostic evaluation of images, collaborating with radiologists for further assessments.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols throughout all procedures.
- Stay updated on advancements in mammography technology and techniques, including PET scans, sonography, and CT imaging as needed.
- Participate in quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of imaging practices.
Experience
- Certification as a Mammography Technologist is required; additional certifications in nuclear medicine or emergency medicine are preferred.
- Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center or similar healthcare setting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with various imaging modalities such as CT, PET scans, and sonography will be considered a plus.
- Strong understanding of diagnostic evaluation processes and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
