Express Healthcare has partnered with a local group home dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centered care that empowers individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling, meaningful, and independent lives. We are currently seeking a caring and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team in Mundelein, IL.
This role provides an opportunity to work in a supportive, home-like environment, directly contributing to the growth and well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
The CNA/Direct Support Professional (DSP) role focuses on empowering residents and providing essential supports in a home setting:
- Personal Care: Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility (transfers, positioning), and hygiene.
- Health Support: Monitor and record vital signs, report changes in resident condition or behavior to the nurse/supervisor immediately. Assist with medication reminders and following dietary restrictions.
- Daily Living Skills: Support residents in acquiring and maintaining daily living skills (e.g., meal preparation, housekeeping, budgeting, social skills) as outlined in their Individual Service Plans (ISP).
- Community Integration: Facilitate and encourage participation in recreational, leisure, and community activities, providing safe transportation as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed records of care provided, resident activities, and incident reports.
- Safe Environment: Ensure a clean, safe, and nurturing home environment, upholding the dignity and rights of every resident.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must possess a valid, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification registered in Illinois.
- Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities (CILA/DSP experience) is highly preferred.
- Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid CPR or BLS certification.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and physical/TB test.
- Must have patience, dedication, and a passion for advocating for and caring for others.
- Reliable attendance and strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Compensation & Benefits
- Available Shifts: 7a-3p/3p-11p/11p-7a
- Pay: $22/hr
