JOB SUMMARY:
This role is primarily focused on supporting Pharmacists to ensure prompt and accurate dispensing of medications to customers. The incumbent will engage with customers in person and over the phone, manage refill requests, process insurance claims, handle prescription paperwork, dispense medications, and maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy. Exceptional customer service is a key aspect of this position.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to established departmental and store policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and well-maintained pharmacy that meets company standards.
- Provide excellent customer service at the pharmacy counter, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Input new prescriptions into the system and file prescription paperwork.
- Facilitate refill requests to doctors via phone and electronic channels.
- Process insurance claims and address insurance-related issues.
- Serve as a cashier for pharmacy customers.
- Receive and stock pharmacy products, adhering to expiration date policies.
- Ensure efficient completion of assigned tasks and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Act as a reliable resource by traveling between stores to cover pharmacy needs during technician absences.
- Exemplify professionalism and a positive attitude, collaborating closely with the Pharmacy Manager and Lead Pharmacy Technician.
- Uphold company standards for safety, sanitation, and productivity.
- Complete assigned duties efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Maintain up-to-date vaccination for Coronavirus (COVID-19).
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful performance in this role requires the following qualifications:
- Completion of a 2-year college or technical school Pharmacy Technician degree; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Current Utah Pharmacy Technician License.
- Ability to multitask and provide reliable transportation for inter-store travel.
- Proficiency in medical and pharmacy terminology, prescription drug effects, basic math, and computer skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:
The work environment is generally safe and comfortable, with occasional exposure to hot, cold, and wet conditions. The role involves regular physical tasks such as grasping, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, twisting, crouching, and reaching. Additionally, there is a need for repetitive motion and coordination of eye, hand, and foot movements. The ability to hear and respond to customer inquiries is crucial. Standing, walking, and bending throughout the workday are essential, along with the capacity to move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
